Bodega Noemia de Patagonia - Malbec 2020
Bodega Noemia de Patagonia Description
Wine Tasting Notes
Deep Violet. The bouquet of this wine is an intense dark fruit, with hints of coffee, dark chocolate and spice notes. Its flavor is well-balanced and elegant; well-integrated fruit, tannins and acidity; with a persistent, long finish.
Vinous: 96 Points
The 2020 Malbec originates from a 1932 plot planted in Mainque, Rio Negro, and underwent a two-year aging process in barriques and 500-liter barrels. Due to the warm vintage, this Noemía showcases a distinct character compared to the 2021 vintage tasted alongside. With a purple hue, the fruitforward nose presents cherry and sweetbriar notes, accented by dried floral tones. Dry and relatively lean in comparison to other vintages, the 2020 offers good balance and a flavorful palate. The mouthfeel is a bit more onedimensional than usual, but it lingers long. Drinking Window 2025-2035.
Wine Enthusiast: 94 Points
Winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers sources fruit from 92-year-old Selection Massale vineyards in the Río Negro Valley to make this delicious Malbec. It starts with a nose of sweet spices and peppercorns. The palate has tension and bright fresh fruit, showing black and red berries, clove and hints of pink pepper.
