Charles Joguet Description
The Joguets owned prime vineyard land in between the Loire and Vienne Rivers, with some of their finest found on the left bank of the Vienne, just outside Chinon, in Sazilly. These very lieux-dits had been recognized for their character and defined before the Renaissance—some even date back to the Middle Ages.
First and foremost, this wine is delicious. But it is also complex and elusive—does fruit (cherry and blackberry) lead the way? Or does something darker and more mysterious (pine, earth, graphite…) bring the fruit along? A glass seemes to deliver a different answer with every sip.
A real dazzler in this classy vintage—the nose and flavors are ravishing. Only acurmudgeon could be blind to its beauty.
