The 2020 Mazys-Chambertin Grand Cru carries the new oak better than the Charmes-Chambertin at the moment. Here is feels fully assimilated. There is more red berry fruit here, a touch of iris flower and pressed violet, an underlying crushed stone note that emerges with time. The palate is mediumbodied with supple tannin, silky smooth in texture with fine depth. This is one of the most elegant ‘20s from the Domaine this year with very fine persistency on the finish. Excellent.
