Notes of sweet red berries, spices and petals preface the 2021 Monthélie Village, a medium-bodied, satiny and supple red that's bright and melting. It was vinified with some 50% whole bunches, and the result is nicely integrated.
Burghound
From Les Gamets et Jouènes; no whole clusters Pretty, cool and airy aromas include those of red and dark pinot fruit, violet and a smoky hint. The delicious and very punchy lighter weight flavors conclude in a chiseled, lightly stony and mildly dusty finale. This is built on its decidedly crunchy fruit and a wine that could easily be enjoyed young or held for 2 to 3 years first in the hopes that better depth will develop.
