Domaine des Baumard Description
Considered as one of the greatest sweet white wines of the Loire valley, Quarts de Chaume benefits from a unique location and terroir. The wines from this vineyard have an extremely rare elegance, and a remarkable texture that balances out against an equally impressive richness and powerful cleansing acidity. It expresses a precise bouquet of flowers, citrus and quince.
Served around 46° Fahrenheit (8°C), this wine can be tasted and enjoyed by itself, but is perfect for refined appetizers like foie gras on toast or with blue cheese. Also delicious with cooked peach, apricot and pear deserts. Try it with fresh fruits and nuts, like pears, peaches, apricots and almonds. The winery particularly recommends serving the wine directly inside freshly halved melons.
Quarts de Chaume has an incredible ability to age and will improve in the cellar.
Wine Spectator: 97 Points
Loaded with mango, quince and fig fruit that works harmoniously with green almond, floral and mineral notes. Terrific creamy texture hides the latent acidity while the flavors glaze your palate on the finish. Both pure and powerful at once, this will age effortlessly. Drink now through 2030.
