A step up in price, the 2016 Barrack Family Estate Ten-Goal is based on 85% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance 5% each of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec, and 2% Petit Verdot, all brought up in new French oak. Blackcurrants, ripe tobacco leaf, graphite, damp forest floor, and crushed rock notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, concentrated effort that has plenty of mid-palate depth and richness, firm tannins, good acidity, and a great finish. It's closed and backward at present, so do your best to hide bottles for 4-5 years.
