A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is a solidly made effort revealing notes of damp earth, cedar, spice box, black cherries, and black currants. It is a medium-bodied, elegant, restrained Cabernet to drink over the next 10-12 years. Only small quantities (400 cases each) of these three offerings are available. The core of fruit comes from Coombsville in the cool, southern sector of Napa Valley.
