Le Piane - 'Eos' Bianco 2020
100% Erbaluce planted in the ancient Maggiorina system of vine training, these white grapes are interplanted with 50-100 year old Nebbiolo and Vespolina in the volcanic soils of Boca. The volcanic mineral, saline notes are very present here, accompanied by lemongrass, dried leaves, and pear skin. There's a richness and opulence to the wine balanced by a savory complexity and a zesty finish. Truly singular and exceptional, this is one of the most profound white wines you're likely to encounter from the Piedmont. Very tiny amounts are produced.
Tasting Notes: The Le Piane Vino Bianco is 100% Erbaluce. Golden yellow in the glass, this gripping white wine has an orchard fruit palate and is loaded with white flowers and gently baking spices on the nose. There is a lovely crealy texture punctuated by a wonderful sensation of salinity and minerals on the finish. An incredible white wine and brilliant addition to the Le Piane lineup.
