The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Passo del Lume Spento is a very special wine that opens up a whole conversation about the altitude and the Sangiovese of the cool climate. The area has sandstone soils with views that extend as far as the Tyrrhenian Sea on clear days. The vines were planted in 2012. The key, however, remains the altitude and freshness. The Passo del Lume Spento displays an almost fragile bouquet of wild berries and blue flowers. It also offers the freshness and structure for ageing in the cellar.
