RISING TIDES
69% GRENACHE, 31% SYRAH
Each year Rising Tides represents the vintage as a whole and in 2019 we have a wine that is deep and complexe while light on its feet. This is a perfect showcase of the balance between dense dry farmed flavors and structure against the brilliant limestone rooted acidity that is emblematic of the wines from this year. Red strawberry Grenache notes are grounded by darker syrah flavors of elderberry and black olives. Herbal aromatics collide with hints of oak to conjure the image of sage butter simmering in a pan. Undertones of wet granite and aged balsamic pick up on the mid-palate and carry long into the finish. Drink now through 2029.
Pairings: Roasted Chicken with root vegetables, soy glazed salmon, beef bourguignon, Thanksgiving dinner
Wine Advocate: 95 Points
The 2020 Rising Tides is a blend of 69% Grenache and 31% Syrah that features blueberries and red cherry jam aromas with accents of aniseed, forest floor and pipe tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and fresh with earth-laced fruits and a long, spicy finish.

Wine Enthusiast: 94 Points
Winemaker Matt Trevisan is one of Paso's Rhône pioneers, and he uses his quarter-century of experience to deliver bold but balanced wines like this blend of 69% Grenache and 31% Syrah. Polished aromas of dark berry, hibiscus and violet lead into an ageworthy palate, where baked fruit and violet flavors culminate in a peppery, tense finish.
