O'Shaughnessy Description
This wine is getting quite a bit of talk around the valley and far beyond as it is the only Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon made from estate vineyards on Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain and Oakville. Yes, these are the same vineyards we use for our Howell Mountain and Mount Veeder bottlings. The Oakville vineyard resides between our esteemed neighbors on the Oakville Cross Road and has been given a lot of time and attention by Sean and the team over the last several years to truly maximize this site. Our Napa Cabernet is often taken home by the staff and is currently a favorite of Betty and Paul's. They particularly enjoy it with a couple additional years of cellaring.
Our 2019 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is very dense with a dark blue/black color and an opaque center. This is a stellar wine with black cherry and blue fruits. The flavors are bright and focused with gorgeous layers of black cherry, plum butter, and mixed berry compote. This expansive Cabernet Sauvignon finishes with flavors of smoked cherry wood and smooth but age worthy tannins.

The base 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is terrific, and while I don’t know the price, I suspect it’s a great value. Deep purple-hued, with terrific mulled currant and blackberry fruits, it has lots of ripe herbal, chocolaty spice notes, full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, and a great finish. This is pure Napa Valley goodness to drink over the coming 10-15 years. Drink: 2022-2037. (5/4/22)"

Notes of black cherries and cassis combine with cedar and vanilla on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that's almost equal parts Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder and Oakville. It's medium to full-bodied, reasonably concentrated and already accessible, with plush tannins and a lingering finish. Drink: 2022-2033. (Sep 2022)"
