Turley Estate Description
The Wine Certified Organic 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Turley Estate vineyard in St. Helena sub-AVA of Napa Valley Planted in 1989 Volcanic and alluvial soils 100% native yeast fermentation Aged 18 in 100% French oak (40% new) 14.8% abv The Estate Turley Wine Cellars was founded in Napa Valley by Larry Turley in 1993. Because Larry has never met an old vine vineyard he didnt like, Turley now makes 34 separate wines from 38 different vineyards, some with vines that date back to the late 1800s. Often weak and decaying, these old vine vineyards require extra care and attention in order to restore them to their former glory. After twenty-five years as an emergency room physician, Larry can now focus his resuscitative skills on the various old vineyards that comprise the wines he loves. All of the vineyards are either certified organic by California Certified Organic Farmers or somewhere in the process, and only natural yeasts are used in the fermentations. By focusing on old vine Zinfandels and Petite Syrahs in particular, Turley aims to both create and preserve Californias unique winemaking culture.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Turley Estate Vineyard is expressive and light on its feet, opening with classic and alluring scents of charred cedar, pipe tobacco, tomato leaf, violet, dried bay leaves and turned earth floating above a core of pure black and red fruits. The palate is suave, generous and full-bodied, with no shortage of finely grained tannins and bright, vibrant acidity. The finish is long and laced with delicate spice and earth-driven tones, gaining additional structure and sturdiness with time and becoming more detailed and expressive as it spends time in the glass.
