James Suckling: 92 Points
Brimming with white peaches and spring blossoms, this has a wonderful juiciness, thanks to the interplay of racy acidity with a touch of unfermented grape sweetness. Spring-like freshness and good wet-stone character on the light-footed palate. Very clean finish. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
Wine Advocate: 90 Points
Bottled with 18 grams per liter of residual sugar and nine grams per liter of total acidity, the 2022 Riesling Tradition shows a clear and aromatic passion fruit aroma with a crystalline, rocky note. Entirely from upper sites in Kiedrich, this is a lush, savory, fruity and grippy Rheingau Riesling with persistent saline acidity and crunchy phenolic grip. 11% stated alcohol. Screw cap.
Vinous
The 2022 Riesling Rheingau is the estate wine, harvested mainly in Kiedrich with small additions from Hallgarten. It was fermented in 95% stainless steel and 5% in large barrel. The nose is restrained but shows a ripe glimpse of stone fruit. The palate is slender but has restrained substance, all framed by vivid citrus. Squeaky clean and balanced, there's a lovely citric tang on the finish. The 2022 is harmonious and dry.
