Louis Jadot Description
The « Clos Saint Jacques » vineyard is located at the beginning of the valley called Combe de lavaux. It is very nicely South-East oriented. There are only five owners of this prestigious Clos, which may have deserved the Grand Cru Appellation when the first official classification was decided.
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
Charming, with focused cherry and smoke flavors and super-firm tannins.
Burghound
From an impeccably stored bottle purchased on release. Now beginning to display bricking though no browning. Distinct secondary aromas blend with earth, some spice and fairly strong game notes that merge into rich, sweet and round medium full flavors that are almost fully resolved though there is a bit of tannin remaining on the moderately long finish. I very much like the balance here and while this is not a deep or seriously complex wine, it has reached that stage where it's eminently satisfying. Tasted twice recently with consistent notes.
