The Setting Description
This wine is a stunner! The acclaimed Glass Slipper vineyard and Alexander Valley fruit come together for this bottling - creating a true pièce unique Alexander Valley Cabernet in 2020. It takes a special winemaker to create such harmony between two powerhouse Cabs. Of these two cool climate AVAs, Alexander Valley is in the driver seat, but Glass Slipper is sitting shotgun and has control of the radio. Gorgeous blue and black fruit come through on the nose and palate. The tannins are elegant and refined, with an overall lushness to the wine that's undeniable. This wine is perfect to forget about in your cellar or open immediately – both decisions you won’t regret.
Wine Advocate: 96 Points
The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley was aged for 22 months in 75% new French oak. Deep ruby, it explodes with pure aromas of Morello cherries, blueberry, warm chocolate, cured meat and tobacco with youthful wafts of cardamom and vanilla. Full-bodied, plush and hedonistic, it has a velvety texture, generous yet classy oak spice, just enough freshness and a long, spicy finish. Latent, lush and squeaky clean at this stage, it's an age-worthy Cabernet, though I'd hedge my bets on the 2020s by drinking them on the earlier side.
